Part 1: AI Voices in eLearning

This is Part 1 of a three-part series on AI and interactivity in Articulate.

How It Was Built

In February 2026, I entered the Articulate Rise Code Block-a-Thon and built a lesson entirely around AI audio — chatbots, multilingual playback, interactive flashcards, and a digital twin hosted by my own cloned voice. Several of you reached out wanting to know more about how I work with AI audio, so this post walks through it all.

Whether you’re just getting started with AI voices in Rise and Storyline, or you’re ready to go deeper with ElevenLabs directly, the video below covers it step by step — using one voice throughout to show what’s actually possible.

What's Covered:

The next post in this series is coming soon — and it’s a good one. We’re diving into the Rise Code Block Library, where I’ll show you how to build custom audio players, chatbots, and interactive apps right inside Rise. While you’re waiting, help yourself to the free goodies below.

Grab my Custom Audio Player for Rise!

And speaking of free goodies — I built a custom audio player for Rise that goes well beyond the default, and I'm giving you the code. Think multiple voice tracks, track titles, waveforms, and transcriptions, all in one tidy code block. Grab it below and see what it can do.

  1. This is amazing, thanks so much for sharing. I haven’t looked at your site before, and I particularly LOVE the Rise Code Block Library. I’m going through every section of it, and find myself saying “Oh, I could use that …” on almost every one of the code blocks.
One issue I’ve come across, and maybe it’s something I’m doing wrong, is in the Hover Definitions & Popup Info lesson (https://articulateusercontent.com/review/uploads/ZhZcYEYYzU_dxqVn1USw6Ab5lxIvJPgt/vqlwmILf/index.html#/lessons/PDPPzVvlybgcVUkIV5MZ0T20_Zg3ChfI). I think that could be extremely useful in some of our learning (we’re a government agency, and use lots of acronyms, and jargon). However, I can’t get to the code snippet, it is blocked by a “Continue” bar, with thew wording “Flip each card to view the code snippet.” I have clicked and hovered over each of the definitions, played the Audio, and done everything in the lesson, but it is not clearing. Is there something you can do on that one?
Once again, thanks so much for your dedication to this, it is an amazing resource.
